Lifetime Measurements of the 4S3/2 Level in Erbium Pentaphosphate Monocrystal

Lifetime of the main fluorescence level, 4S3/2, of erbium pentaphosphate monocrystal was measured to be 380±20 ns. Direct excitation to higher energy levels, and also indirect excitation with the use of an infrared beam were applied.
