The present work reports on the electrical resistivity measurements and 119Sn Mößbauer effect investigations of the hyperfine interactions in novel ternary compounds ErNi2Sn2 and ErCu2Sn2. The attention was focused on the temperature region of the magnetic ordering transitions, i.e. at TN = 5 K and 3.5 K, respectively. Er3+ spin correlations in ErNi2Sn2 are discussed in terms of their influence on resonant γ-absorption.
