The laser Raman and infrared absorption spectra of 2,4-dichloronitrobenzene have been recorded in pure liquid state. The vibrational spectra have been analysed assuming Cs, point group for the molecule. The assignments for fundamental vibrations, combination and overtone frequencies and internal modes of vibrations of NO2 group have been proposed.
