Stacking two sheets of graphene on top of each other and then rotating one of them so that the sheets are slightly misaligned is one of the hot research directions in nanoelectronics. Here, using the density functional theory, we show that the electronic properties of the graphene nanoisland on the graphene substrate are modulated by changing the rotation angle. We observed that the mutual rotation in the range 0-60° contributes to the induction of the van Hove singularity and the quantum oscillation of the density of states at the Fermi level. Our results provide guidance for future experiments targeting the next generation of devices for nanoelectronics and twistronics.
