A large spectrum of model ferritic steels with a parametric variation of alloying elements was developed in order to understand the role and influence of Ni, Mn, Si, Cr, and Mo as alloying elements and certain impurities as Cu and P on the properties of reactor pressure vessel steels during irradiation. In the present paper, we discuss the results obtained by Magnetic Barkhausen noise measurements (MBN). At a later stage, these data will be compared with those obtained on model steels irradiated in the High Flux Reactor - Lyra irradiation facility in Petten/the Netherlands up to neutron fluence of about 2.5×1019 n/cm2.
