The magnetic properties and magnetocaloric effect (MCE) in DyNi4Si have been studied by the magnetization and specific heat measurements. The saturation magnetic moment in μ0H = 9 T is equal to 7.9 μB/f.u at 4.2 K. A significant MCE has been observed around the second order phase transition at TC = 11 K. The maximum magnetic entropy change is -ΔSM = 14.5 J kg-1K-1 for the magnetic field change of 9 T.
