Working in the strongly-correlated crystal-field approach and in the strong hybridization limit we calculated the temperature dependence of the heat capacity of NiO in a wide temperature range, from zero temperature to 1200 K. Our calculations reproduce reasonably well experimental dependence including the λ-type peak at TN of 525 K. |
